::::: Concept behind is a world where the suns rays can kill any living thing. So the inhabitants built their world under huge cantilever mountains and canyons to get away from the killing heat. ::::::

This is my winning entry for the mattepainting challenge at another site : [link]

Second personal matte for me for 2009. Took me about 2 days to do in about 24 hours tops.

Working resolution was an little larger than 3k res. Photoshop and Maya for that CG looking vent thingeeeee....
Of course comments are always welcome!

p.s. I was supposed to change this and develop it further but i decided to post it here and create a newer version with the same theme

Children of Fire by ~frenic shows a lovely executed matte-painting of extra-terrestrial life. It could be straight out of a science-fiction movie. If you like this picture, you're going to love the rest of his gallery! (Featured by ^taenaron)

Wicked! after seing it in the forums I couldn't wait until I could comment it here :XD: I like the concept, a bit like the planet in The chronicles of Riddick yet the canyon and colours of the sky look so serene - I never would have guessed how bad the climate was :sun: allow me to be picky and say some of the photo's look a bit low-res like in the far back at the left, but generally it's a very good scene, original as far as canyons go and has great great lighting

Hey man! Thanks for dropping by again! I glad you like it. The cast shadow somehow tells a story that that Rocky Building Thingeee is every where... like tons of monuments, and besides it works for framing the image HAHA!

Thansk again buddy!

Thanks, Vue has only recently started to become a daily name among major studios and matte-painters ;D it was used in one of the Pirates of the Carribean movies, as well as Indiana Jones and some bits of Australia too :wow: so hopefully what I can do with Vue and Photoshop will be a desireable trait from potential employers ;)

Lol, if you forget to fave, don't worry - it got so much that your'e bound to see it again somewhere anyway :XD: I'm glad a Vue scene was finally able to get some worthwhile attantion here :aww:

Yes... vue was used on those movies. Let me tell you secret though, although vue was used but they never animated in vue, they just rendered images in vue and heavily edited them in photoshop.

....annnddd i already added it up a while ago with comment :D
